Karachi, November 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Information and Local Government Mr. Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh Government has taken concrete steps to improve law and order situation in Sindh province particularly in Karachi. As a result, the trader’s community has got rid of extortion and such other blackmailing.
This he said while addressing the opening ceremony of 3-day shopping festival organized to celebrate 60-year of All Pakistan Memon Federation here on Friday. He said that the PPP government was well aware of the hardship faced by trader’s community due to deteriorated law and order in the city.
The citizens have also suffered a lot but after launching of target operation a significant reduction has occurred in target killing and extortion. Our police and Rangers are working day and night to purge the city from criminals.
Sharjeel Memon said that Sindh government was facing serious problems of natural calamities. “In 2010 over 7 million people were displaced due to floods and again in 2011 about 9 million people were displaced due to heavy rains.
The two calamities were followed by drought in Tharparkar,” he said and added that the Sindh government played its due role and served the people day and night. Now, we are fighting against drought in Thar and Inshallah our critics would appreciate our efforts”.
Talking about the contribution of Memon community in the development of national as well as provincial economy is an open secret. “Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah always takes Memon community onboard while taking important decisions like restoration of peace, financial discipline and other related matters.”
