Sindh Chief Minister orders legal action against forced selling of daughters

Karachi, April 01, 2015 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister has taken serious notice of a so-called jirga reportedly held by a PPP leader in village Garhi Hassan, Thul Taluka of district Jacobabad in which a poor farmer Qadir Bux was forced to sell his three innocent daughters to pay Rs1.1 million depravity of jirga.

The chief minister directed the DIG Larkana division to take legal action against the culprits. “I would never allow such an inhuman act which is not only contrary to the principles of human rights but against the teaching of Islam,” he said. He directed the DIG to take legal action and report him how such a gruesome jirga was held in the jurisdiction of Thul police.
