Sindh Chief Minister enhances shuhda compensation from Rs2 million to Rs6 million

Karachi, April 22, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has decided to enhance the shuhda compensation from Rs2 million to Rs6 million. “Life is priceless but it is our humble effort to extend financial help to the heirs of our brave policemen who embrace martyrdom for the sake of their country and its people.”

This he said while presiding over a meeting to decide the matters of recruitment in police and compensation here at the CM House. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Siddique Memon, IGP AD Khwaja, Principal Secretary Alamuddin Bullo and others.

The chief minister said that the compensation being given to the policemen who lay their life in the line of their duty is not enough. “A grieved family cannot survive on a meagre compensation of Rs2 million. Therefore I have decided to enhance it from Rs2 million to Rs6 million,” he said and directed the IGP AD Khwaja to move a summary for the purpose.

The IG police said that the decision of the chief minister for increasing the compensation amount was of great encouragement for the police force. He thanked the chief minister for his personal support and said he would move the summary.
