Srinagar, August 07, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) met the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Omer Farooq at their residences in Srinagar.
The APSCC in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “During the meeting both the Hurriyet leaders said that they considered Sikhs as the part and parcel of Kashmir.”
Syed Ali Gilani said that Sikhs and all minorities are safe in Kashmir and he also stressed the paths of brotherhood at all cost under the extreme conditions prevailing in the Valley, “the statement added. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also told the Sikh delegation that the community was bold enough to face the present situation. “Sikhs living in villages and remote areas are bold enough to face the odd situation and we are proud of it, “he told the Sikh delegation.
APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that during the meeting both the leaders appreciated the role of Sikh community during the turmoil and said that Sikhs should remain vigilant and check activities of the anti-social elements. “Despite the odds, including Chattisinghpora and Mehjoornagar, Sikhs did not leave the valley and shared all sorrows and joys with majority community and will continue to do that, “said Raina.
