Srinagar, May 30, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Shopian district, today, to pay homage to Shopian victims, Asiya and Neelofar on their fifth death anniversary. They were abducted, molested and subsequently killed by men in uniform in the town in May 2009.
Call for the strike has been given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. The octogenarian leader in a statement had appealed to the people of Kashmir to hold special prayer meetings in mosques for the departed souls of the victim women.
Meanwhile, terming the Shopian rape and double-murder as collective tragedy of Ummah, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief, Aasiya Andrabi in a statement said that the 30th May is being observed as Youm-e-Tahaffuz-Asmat, today.
