Shutdown in Kulgam district against teenager’s killing

Srinagar, July 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, anti-India protests and shutdown was observed in Kulgam district, today, against the killing of a teenager, Suhail Ahmad Lone in firing by Indian troops in the district on Saturday. Indian police used brute force and fired teargas shells on anti-India protesters in Khudwani, Kaimoh and other areas of the district. Clashes between Indian forces and protesters were going on till last reports came in.

Hundreds of troops and police personnel had been deployed in Kaimoh and adjoining areas after the killing of Suhail Ahmad. Meanwhile, the occupation authorities continued to place the Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan under house arrest.
