Islamabad, January 31, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Mark Gainsborough, Regional Downstream Director and EVP Global Commercial Royal Dutch called on MOS Finance/Chairman BOI, Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla.
The meeting focused on Shell’s efforts and commitment to meet the energy needs of Pakistan. The Shell representative was very much keen to engage senior government leaders to hear first-hand information on the opportunities and challenges in the energy sector and the positive role that Shell could play to overcome Pakistan’s energy deficiencies.
The MOS offered the delegation to explore new sites for drilling and oil exploration in Pakistan. He also proposed to them that Shell, being the oldest oil company in Pakistan, with over Rs. 43 billion investments, should also invest in the LPG sector, which could provide them with maximum profits in their business. Shell is one of the most favoured brands in Pakistan and the leader in the lubricants sector since 2002, so it should play an important role in the oil exploration in Pakistan, Mr. Mandviwalla stressed.
Mr. Mark appreciated the proposal and termed Pakistan as a market of opportunities and an important place for doing business and having a favourable business environment for Shell. He also assured to work together to bring in more business in Pakistan.
