Srinagar, April 06, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, has said that sham polls in the territory are not a solution to the Kashmir dispute and should only be seen as a process for running administrative affairs.
Professor Abdul Ghani Butt in an interview in Srinagar said that there would be no solution to the dispute till the aspirations of common Kashmiris were addressed. The APHC leader said that pro-India politicians had always fooled the people in the name of road, water and electricity. He said that whether it was National Conference or Peoples Democratic Party or any other pro-India political party, they had always sucked the blood of Kashmiri people for their benefits.
Professor Butt said that the Hurriyet leaders’ meeting with Pakistani High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, was fruitful and encouraging. “I was very impressed by the speech of Pakistani High Commissioner. He assured Islamabad will take all measures with the new government at New Delhi after parliamentary polls to safeguard the interest of Kashmiri people,” he added.
Maintaining that dialogue was the only way to settle the conflict over Kashmir, Professor Butt said that the APHC was ready to hold talks with any political party in India that was sincere to resolve the dispute.
