Srinagar, April 21, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on Kashmir, saying that Kashmir has never been a part of India. Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said such remarks are ridiculous as history of Kashmir is completely different from that of India’s. Modi addressing a function in Jammu had described Jammu and Kashmir as mini India.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah said development cannot compensate the pain and suffering of Kashmiris. He urged India to fulfil its promises with Kashmiris. He pointed out that removal of one or two army bunkers was not a solution to the dispute and attention from real issue cannot be diverted through such cosmetic measures.
“The people of Jammu Kashmir cannot made fool by the sweet slogans and they will continue their struggle for freedom at any cost,” he added. The DFP Chairman said Kashmir is an internationally acknowledged dispute pending with the United Nations for the past many decades.
“India should read writing on the wall that it cannot mislead the world community by imposing its military occupation in Kashmir. India’s crimes of human rights violations will get exposed before world very soon,” he remarked.
Terming Mehbooba Mufti’s speech before Modi as a joke, Shah said the ongoing freedom movement is neither related to posts nor is it an economical problem but a mission for which Kashmiris laid down their lives since last 7 decades.
He also rejected the so-called probe ordered by administration into the Handwara and Kupwara killings saying the last three decades are ample proof for us that these investigations are nothing but eye-wash. He said the oppressive and suppressive measures including killings and detentions cannot break Kashmiris’ resolve and they will continue their movement at any cost.
