Srinagar, December 13, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday paid glowing tribute to Sofi Muhammad Akbar on his 28th death anniversary, saying the pro-freedom leader strongly rejected the Indira-Abdullah Accord of 1975. Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar also expressed concern over the arrest of Saliq Ahmad Shah and his mother in Sopore, saying the Mufti-led puppet regime doesn’t even spare our mothers and sisters and condemned the fresh arrest spree launched across the territory.
He demanded immediate release of students arrested in Hajin, Sopore, Pulwama and Pampore. “These students were shifted from one police station to other and are now lodged at Zadibal police station. Their parents are roaming through police stations across Srinagar for last week and have suffered heavily,” he said and warned the authorities of serious consequences if the students are not released forthwith.
