Srinagar, April 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah expressing serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, has said that the authorities are implicating its political opponents in fake cases and arresting them without any justification.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah who is under house arrest in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Such act of cowardice on the part of authorities is detrimental for the sound functioning of democracy and will yield serious repercussions.”
Appealing people to completely boycott the sham polls, he said, “Our goal is to achieve freedom from Indian forcible occupation, and not to grab power or any other material gains.”
Commenting on the rising clashes between Mujahedeen and Indian forces, Shah said, “Had India fulfilled all its promises it had made with the Kashmiris such bloodbaths would never have taken place in the Valley.”
He paid tributes to the martyrs expressing sympathies with the families of Ahmad Nagar whose houses were severely damaged in the Indian military operation.
Meanwhile, APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja in a statement also paid tributes to martyrs of Pampur and Ahmad Negar saying that the Kashmiris were offering sacrifices for the cause of freedom.
