Islamabad: On the announcement of the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to Celebrate 22nd December as National Working Women’s Day, the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan has arrange a seminar on 21st Dec. 2011, at Kashmir House, Islamabad.
Goodwill Ambassador for the Women’s Empowerment Miss Fizza Batool Gilani was the Chief Guest on the Occasion. The Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo presided over the seminar. Women from AJK and GB and other prominent women from all walks of life and delegations participated in the seminar.
The purpose of the Seminar was the highlight in the problems faced by the working women in Pakistan in general and AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan in particular and to ponder on the suggestion and proposals for the resolution of the gender relater issues. While addressing to the Seminar Goodwill Ambassador for Women empowerment, Miss Fizza Batool Gilani said that the role of women in the society has transformed over the years and Pakistani women are sensitive to these charges.
She emphasized that Pakistani women will have to understand this every changing dynamics of the world to cope with the future challenges. She said that women in Pakistan are progressive and they have proved themselves in every walk of life. She said was women’s empowerment was dream of Shaheed Mohterma Benazir Bhutto and is the top most priority of the present political government.
Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan while addressing the Seminar welcomed Miss Fizza Batool Gilani to the seminar and appreciated her for an active role for the improvement of the women’s status in Pakistan. He said that Islam is the first religion to give the equal status to women and our Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave respect and dignity to the woman which was not expected before that. He said that Pakistan People’s Party is the party to Honour the right of everyone and women Empowerment and equals status with men is our top priority. He told the participants that his own daughters are in working in political and social fields and I have treated than equal to my sons. The daughters and our Co-Chairperson and President Asif Ali Zardari are also active. So we not only give our daughter equal rights but we want the all the daughters of the Nation to come forward and work for the development of the country hands in hard with their male counterparts in the society. He said that the present government of PPP has taken so many measures for the development of the women which could not be done in the rest of the history of the country. He is also appreciated the organizers of the seminar and the officer and staff of the Ministry.
Dr. Fauzia Saeed, Ms. Bushra Shams, Ms. Taqdees Gilani, Dr. Shaheed Akhtar, Ms. Saadia Danish and Ms. Farzana Yaqoob MLA AJK Legislative assembly also addressed to the participants of the seminar.
