Islamabad, September 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): Minister of State for Communications Abdul Hakeem Baloch has said that selfless service of the poor is the real virtue and the NGOs busy in this noble cause deserve to be encouraged to help strengthen their resolve. He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by “HANDS” International in the Noor Muhammad Village near Karachi, where he was invited as the chief guest.
During the ceremony, shields and certificates were awarded to 95 people who had completed special training for welfare activities imparted by “HANDS”. Earlier, the founder chairman “HANDS” Registered, Prof. Ghaffar A. Balloo (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) presenting a profile of “HANDS”, and said that his organizations has been working in Karachi’s rural neighbourhood and providing assistance for reconstruction of their dilapidated houses, establishing small businesses, providing Ching Chi Rickshaws, providing sewing machines to orphans and widows to help alleviate poverty from these areas.
The Minister of State Abdul Hakeem Baloch praised the work of “HANDS” and assured that the Government and other donors will provide all possible assistance to it to help alleviate poverty. It is clarified that the Government has exempted “HANDS” from every kind of taxes and its welfare program under the name “Misali Mansooba” is ongoing in the areas.
