Security Arrangements in Supreme Court Building, Islamabad

Islamabad: A nine member Bench headed by Honourable Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Chief Justice of Pakistan will hear Constitution Petitions No. 77 to 85 of 2011 [Constitution Petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution regarding alleged Memo to Admiral Mike Mullen by Mr. Hussain Haqqani, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the US] on 19.12.2011 (Monday).

For proper Court decorum and smooth functioning of the Supreme Court, security measures have been taken to beef up the security on Monday the 19th December, 2011 in the premises of Supreme Court for which following steps have been taken:-

1. Entry in Court Room No. 1 shall only be allowed to the litigant parties and their learned counsel whose cases are fixed before Court on 19.12.2011 subject to the availability of space in the said Court Room.

2. Entry of irrelevant persons shall not be allowed.

3. Entry into Court building will be allowed after checking/frisking and searching of bags/purses etc. No Cell phone shall be allowed to be carried out inside the Courtroom.

We expect all concerned to follow the instructions and cooperate with the security staff on duty in the Court premises. The security personnel have been directed to deal with the litigant parties and their learned counsel with courtesy, dignity and in a decent and civilized manner.
