Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, CFA Society Pakistan to sign accord

Islamabad, March 31, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CFA Society Pakistan (CFAP) to promote investor protection and financial literacy in Pakistan. The signing ceremony is scheduled for April 4 at the SECP head office in Islamabad.

Investor education and awareness is a critical pillar of the SECPs’ regulatory regime. It has launched an Investor Education Program (“IEP”) under the brand name of “JamaPunji” for building investor confidence and augments their protection.

While expending further its IEP activities, the Investor Education and International Relations Department (IEIRD) of the SECP contemplate collaboration with CFA Society Pakistan (CFAP). The collaboration will result in spreading financial awareness and promote investor protection through seminars, advertisements, publishing of CFA’s statement of investor rights and celebrating investor days in different cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad etc.
