Plants Distribution Ceremony in DHA Phase-VIII

Karachi, March 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): DHA Phase-VIII is coming up as a model and vibrant phase of the Housing Authority which is spiritedly engaged in beautification of surrounding areas through promotion of greenery and horticulture. Phase-VIII Directorate organized a colourful and lively two days function adjacent to DHA Golf Club to welcome advent of spring. The residents were given two pots each of colourful flowers/plants free of cost to create a beautiful and green natural surrounding for a healthy and aesthetic living. This was in accordance with Housing Authority’s concept of creating a ‘Greener and Vibrant DHA’ for residents.

The venue was aesthetically and innovatively decorated with a touch of class. A large number of residents visited the venue and were given pots of plants comprising colourful flowers and plants of permanent fruit/shadowy trees to promote greenery and horticulture in DHA. The efficient and courteous staff of Phase-VIII horticulture encouraged and inspired the residents to participate inbeautification of nature to promote a healthy living environment. These plants were nurtured and developed at DHA Phase-VIII Nursery which has emerged as an epic fountain instrumental in growth and development of horticulture in DHA.

The residents appreciated the initiative of DHA and termed it as dynamic and nature friendly. Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali said that DHA was committed to provide lively and aesthetically vibrant living environment to its residents. He added that healthy and vibrant environment created through versatile horticulture interventions is not only enchanting but also serves the purpose of revitalization of senses so essential for a healthy living.

Intercollegiate Bilingual Declamation Contest held at Defence Authority Degree College for Boys and Girls

Karachi, January 25, 2018 (PPI-OT):An Intercollegiate Bilingual Declamation Contest was held at Defence Authority Degree College for Boys and Girls. A large number of reputed educational institutions of the metropolis took part in the contest, which is an annual feature of the College’s co-curricular activities. Celebrated script writer and columnist Ms Haseena Moin was the chief guest of the event.

Ms Haseena Moin said that the young generation has lot of potential and constitutes hope and optimism for the country’s bright future. She appreciated the high standard and decorum of the declamation contest. She advised the students to have full knowledge of the subject on which they speak and to present their ideas logically, innovatively and convincingly to be a good speaker.

The young speakers spoke on various serious and humorous topics displaying their brilliance, talent and eloquence. The audience appreciated the imaginative techniques, innovative skills and debating prowess of the speakers displayed in their English and Urdu speeches. Principal Prof Syed Siraj Munir said that the college organizes debates, declamations and discussions which provide the students an effective forum for enlightenment of their mind and development of their leadership skills.

In English Declamation Bareera Goveria from DA College for Women clinched the first position, Syed Hammad Mukhtar of Agha Khan Higher Secondary School (Morning) was declared second and Esha Afridi from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School (Evening) won the third position.

In Urdu Declamation Zamad Shahab Agha Khan from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School (Morning) got the first position, Dania Hassan from DA College for Women was adjudged second while Abdullah Shakir from Bahria College NORE-I stood third. The coveted trophy was won by Defence Authority College for Women. In the end the chief guest distributed certificates and shields among the participants of the declamation contest.

Sports Day organized by Pre Primary Section of Defence Authority Public School, Seaview

Karachi, January 01, 2018 (PPI-OT):A thrilling and colourful Sports Day was organized by Pre Primary Section of Defence Authority Public School (O and A Levels), Seaview in the beautiful sporting environment of Defence Authority Zamzama Club’s Stadium. Capt (R) Sajid Mahmood PN, Additional Director DHA Colleges was the chief guest on the occasion.

The tiny toddlers took the oath before the distinguished guest in an impressive ceremony. Mrs Rukhshanda Jabeen, Principal of DAPS Seaview, vowed to give the best available sports facilities to the kids to build their wholesome personalities. The children displayed their exceptional talent and skills in different in-house competitions which was highly appreciated by the spectators. The Principal thanked the parents for being cooperative and supportive which enabled the school to successfully conduct all its events in a befitting manner.

The chief guest praised the sheer hard work put in by the teachers in organizing a wonderful sports day; “we strive to provide vivid examples of excellence through sports” he remarked. He further said “perfection is not attainable but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” The enthusiasm, excitement and passion displayed by participants was simply superb. In the end, the chief guest awarded medals to the winners. The trophy was won by the students from Jinnah House.
