Babar Azam top T20I player rankings

Lahore, January 29, 2018 (PPI-OT):Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has topped the MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for T20I Batsmen, following the conclusion of their series which the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 champions won 2-1. Babar was rewarded for finishing as the leading run-scorer in the series (109 runs) with a rise of 11 places that has put him on top for the first time. He now leads Australia’s Aaron Finch (784 points) by two points.

Babar is the second Pakistan batsman to top the T20I rankings after Misbah-ul-Haq, who had climbed to number-one spot in 2009. Pakistan’s Ahmed Shehzad has moved up two places to 25th and is his side’s second highest-ranked batsman in the shortest format, but Captain Sarfraz Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman are the biggest movers in the latest rankings.

Sarfraz’s series contribution of 79 runs has lifted him from 76th position to 55th, while Fakhar has claimed the 71st spot after rising 41 places following his series aggregate of 99 runs. Pakistan’s Shadab Khan, who was the most successful bowler in the series with five wickets, has rocketed 28 places to 14th spot, while fast bowler Mohammad Amir has also made an impressive gain of 19 places and now sits in 27th position after bagging three wickets.

PCB Sports Physiotherapy Level I Course at NCA, Lahore

Lahore, January 22, 2018 (PPI-OT):As per PCB / NCA Game Education Program 2018, PCB Sports Physiotherapy Level I Course has been designed at NCA, Lahore. Proposed itinerary is as following:

SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY LEVEL I COURSE

Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th February 2018 AT NATIONAL CRICKET ACADEMY,

The four day course will explore the theoretical and practical side of managing sporting injuries with an emphasis on current research. The well reputed presenters all around the country will cover the lectures / workshop on Shoulders; Knee and ankle injuries with focus specifically on Ligaments, tendon and muscles. Enormous information will be given on acute on field management; travelling with sports team and practical component on taping techniques.

35-40 candidates who are DPT, BSPT or MSPT will be selected to participate in this course. The course will be run on self-finance basis and Rupees 35,000/- will be charge from each participants. The fee for foreign participants will be US $ 600 per person. The participant will be given clothing; course material; food and accommodation on three sharing bases (for outstation participant only).

Participants will be allocated the assignments/ dissertations at the end of the course. The participants will remain in contact / supervision of PCB / NCA Sports Medicine Department for three to four month regarding any updates / up gradation. PCB Sports Physiotherapy Level 1 Course Certification will be awarded to those successful candidates who will fulfill following criteria:

1- Submission and Approval of dissertations within three month. (Mandatory to appear in Exam)

2- Successful completion of written, Viva examination with practical demonstration.

Application forms must reach to Mr. Muqadas Umar, Coordinator Sports Medicine Department National Cricket Academy, 10 working days prior to beginning of this course.

Regional Under-19 Academies Program 2017

Lahore, July 11, 2017 (PPI-OT):The National Cricket Academy under the auspices of PCB Academies Department has started the first ever eight-week Regional Academies Program for the U19 players at all the 16 regions nationwide to unearth new talent for future Pakistan Cricket. In this connection, 20 players from each region are participating in players development endeavour in all 16 regions under the supervision of Regional Coaching and Support staff.

In addition, the NCA Coaches and Consultants will also visit the academies for specialized lectures and coaching sessions. The main emphasis during the program will be on improving the fitness, technical, tactical and mental skill competencies of the players keeping in view contemporary cricket requirements and upcoming Domestic Season.
