Saudi Ambassador calls on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Islamabad, July 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Ghadeer, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office this morning.

The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings to the leadership and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close and cordial relations and that it would be the endeavour of his government to take the bilateral relations to new strategic heights.

The Prime Minister said that Saudi Arabia is home to 1.5 million Pakistanis who have made significant contribution in development of the country. Through their annual remittances amounting to nearly 3.7 billion dollars, they have also played a key role in economic progress of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister appreciated that the Saudi leadership has always stood by the people of Pakistan during challenging times. He also lauded Saudi Arabia’s important role in promotion of global peace and stability.

The Prime Minister conveyed his sincere prayers for the good health of HRH King Abdullah.
