Saturday’s strike call withdrawn on Mirwaiz request

Srinagar, March 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Mutahida Ulema Council (MUC) on Wednesday withdrew the shutdown call issued for Saturday after the request by the Hurriyat forum Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, who heads the Mutahida Ulema Council (MUC), in a statement issued in Srinagar informed that the MUC had withdrawn Saturday’s shutdown call.

Earlier today, Mirwaiz had requested the MUC to withdraw the call for shutdown. On Tuesday, the MUC had appealed people to observe a complete shutdown on 16th March (Saturday) against the summoning of Mirwaiz to New Delhi by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
