Lahore, January 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): Despite being the holiday, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar paid surprise visit to District Headquarters Hospital Sheikhupura without protocol. He left with only two vehicles from Lahore and administration of hospital was also kept uninformed about it. CM visited different wards to see patients and enquired about their health. He also asked about facilities provided for patients’ treatment and medicines in the hospital.
Taking quick notice of the complaint of non-availability of medicines and purchasing them privately by the father of an injured boy at Trauma center, CM ordered to suspend Dr. Muzammil. He also visited bandage and injection room. He instructed to shift an elderly patient in the ward at once. Patients and their attendants at Emergency Medical and ICU also complained about non-availability of medicines. On conveying displeasure over these complaints, he said that despite the provision of resources worth of billions by government for free medicines, its absence is an unfortunate thing.
He also visited the Police Facility Center at the hospital and said that he has taken responsibility of improving condition of hospitals and will return the right of standard medical facilities to patients. CM said that the trend of leaving patients in vulnerable state will not be tolerated in New Pakistan. He said that he himself is visiting hospitals to review the situation over there and these surprise visits will continue till patients are satisfied and will display their confidence over medical facilities.
This is your government and CM is yours, so every needful step will be taken for your welfare, he made promise to patients. Later on CM also paid surprise visit to District Prison Sheikhupura. He visited the barracks of women and men as well as Jail kitchens where he inspected the quality of food cooked for prisoners. He also visited hospital of Jail to see patients and instructed to take immediate measures for the treatment of 3 prisoners. He expressed displeasure on the absence of doctor at hospital.
He scolded superintendent Jail over the complaint of a prisoner about not providing them with pillows. Under which law prisoner patients are not given pillows? He enquired angrily. While directing to shift some patients to another hospital for treatment, he ordered that treatment of these patients should be done properly. He also asked women prisoners about their problems and assured them that if they will let him know about any issue, it will be resolved immediately.
CM directed to install lights outside their barracks and large TVs to replace small ones in the barracks. While enquiring male prisoners about the facilities provided to them in prison he told them to share their issues with him frankly and also let him know if they need anything. He assured them that strict action will be taken against anyone who has demanded money from them for bribe.
