Sambrial Bar Association delegation calls on Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary

Islamabad, July 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): A 30 Member delegation of Sambrial Bar Association District Sialkot headed by its President Irshad Ahmed Ghumman and comprising other office bearers called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today on 16.07.2012 in the Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.

Talking to the delegation, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan stressed the need for effective cooperation between bench and bar for administration of justice, adding that this apex Court is fully active and addressing the important matters of public interest aimed at providing relief to the people.

He advised the lawyers to work hard to make their career bright and fruitful for the society. He said, “it is a matter of great satisfaction that the legal community is extending cooperation to the judiciary in achieving the noble goal of administration of justice to the needy”.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice informed the delegation that National Judicial Policy was formulated with a view to providing inexpensive and speedy justice to litigants at their doorsteps and measures were being successfully taken to eradicate corruption from judiciary. Corruption in judiciary has decreased. The Hon’ble Chief Justice emphasized that we want to root out corruption from our institution because corrupt persons bring bad name to the prestigious institution.

The delegation discussed with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan the issues of mutual interest and informed him about the hardships faced by them and requested for construction of lawyers’ chambers at Sambrial. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan assured them to take up the matter with concerned authorities.

They praised efforts of Hon’ble Chief Justice for the cause of dispensation of justice and stated that Hon’ble Chief Justice is a ray of hope for society and a fountain of wisdom for lawyers and prayed for his long life. Recounting the days of struggle during the movement, they stated that it was the vision and the inspiring leadership of Hon’ble Chief Justice that brought lawyers together on a platform and they achieved the goal in shape of restoration of independent judiciary.

The delegation praised the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan for his untiring efforts to ensure rule of law and supremacy of the constitution and offered unconditional support in maintaining the independence of judiciary.
