Srinagar, December 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, rich tributes were paid to renowned Islamic scholar and Mujahid commander, Shams-ul-Haq and martyr Jamal Afghani on their martyrdom anniversaries, today. Several Hurriyet leaders, human rights activist, religious scholars and lawyers visited martyrs’ graveyard at Eid Gah in Srinagar to memorize the martyrs.
Special prayers were offered for Shamsul Haq, Jamal Afghani and thousands of other Kashmiri martyrs on the occasion. Hurriyet leaders who were present on the occasion included Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Nisar Hussain Rather, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and Noor Muhammad Kalwal.
Others who participated in the prayers were Farooq Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Abdul Rauf Khan, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo, Sajjad Irfan Gul, Ghulam Mohammad Nagoo, Mohammad Rafiq Mir, Maulana Shamus Din, Advocate Baber Qadri, Maulana Mushtaq, Dr Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, Hilal Ahmad Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, Malik Ghulam Nabi and residents of Sanoor Kalipora and martyrs’ family members.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and liberation struggle would continue till the end of Indian occupation over Kashmir. They urged India to accept the people of Jammu and Kashmir as a fundamental party to the Kashmir dispute and take steps towards settlement of the dispute as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations. Pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised after the prayers.
