Islamabad: A news item was published in a section of Press regarding miseries of the family of Raja Ashraf resident of Mohalla Nathay Shah, North Jehlum who was brutally tortured to death at Dina Police Station in 2003 for no crime. His parents and sisters continue to brave the police machinations, which include razing to the ground of their residence in 2009 and pressurizing them to with draw from the case against the police officials.
Taking notice of the news item, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani Chief Coordinator Prime Minister’s Grievances Wing visited them in Jehlum as a mark of solidarity with them. He presented a cheque of Rs.100,000/- to the family on behalf of the honourable Prime Minister and also promised jobs to the two sisters of late Ashraf, who could not continue their education, following his demise. In his presence, the District Police Officer, Jehlum wrote to the Dina Police Station to arrange transport for the wretched family on the occasion of hearing in LHC Rawalpindi Bench.
The Chief Coordinator regretted the society should have not left the poor family of Raja Ashraf in lurch and joined forces against the cruel police, who wanted them to compromise over the alleged murder of their brother.
