Srinagar, December 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, renowned writer and poet from Yaripora area of Kulgam, Ghulam Nabi Naazir Kulgami passed away at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar, after protracted illness. Ghulam Nabi Naazir, 88, had been admitted to Soura hospital a couple of days back with complaint of Haematoma. Naazir is survived by three sons, two daughters and their respective families, while his wife had died some years back. After formally retiring from the Agriculture department in 1986, where he worked as an Inspector, Naazir dedicated his remaining years to be a full time writer and a poet.
Widely respected and held in very high esteem in literary circles of Kashmir and otherwise, Naazir was considered to be one of the most prominent writer-poets in the valley. Naazir, has more than 50 published books to his name both in Kashmiri and in Urdu languages.
