Relocation of families residing in Bhagwandas building

Karachi: Municipal Commissioner KMC Matanat Ali Khan has said that the residents of Bhagwandas Building in Narainpura will be shifted to KMC Workshop Building at Nishter Road where all necessary residential facilities will be provided including electricity, water, sewerage system and gas.

The Bhagwandas building had been declared dangerous due to its decayed condition by building control authority.

Chairing a meeting to review and discuss the relocation of families residing in the Bhagwandas building Municipal Commissioner said the building was not in a condition to be used for residential purpose and thus shifting of its residents was being done without delay.

The building contains 63 apartments which were in use by more than 750 people. During the meeting the delegation comprising the representatives of Bhagwandas building residents was assured that their relocation KMC Workshop Building was a makeshift arrangement and they would be shifted again to original building after its reconstruction. The MC directed all concerned officers to conduct a survey of the building in three days and make all the arrangements for shifting of families residing in Bhagwandas building on a preferential basis.
