Rehmani hails President’s emphasis on right to self-determination

Srinagar, April 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has welcomed the meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and the Hurriyet leaders and the former’s address before a joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly and Council at Muzaffarabad; paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiris for right to self-determination. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad hailed President’s reiterating of Pakistan’s commitment to the universally recognised right—the right to self-determination for the Kashmiris, as a nation.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, “The visit of the President of Pakistan to Muzaffarabad and his address in the Assembly has rekindled the belief of the people across Jammu and Kashmir that Pakistan will continue to support the peaceful struggle of the Kashmiris to regain their right to decide their destiny freely and without coercion.”

He hoped that the President’s speech in AJK legislature would serve as a guide-line for the future Government of Pakistan, and the Azad Kashmir Government would mobilize its political and constitutional activities accordingly. He hoped that the future Government of Pakistan as well would continue to view Kashmir as the country’s national question never leaving Kashmiris alone in their peaceful political struggle for freedom and right of self-determination.

He underscored the importance of the future Parliament of Pakistan in reflecting the internationally recognized right of the Kashmiris, reminding that the Indian Parliament was keeping constant watch on Kashmir; the Pakistan Parliament should never lag behind in upholding the rightful cause of the Kashmir and not ignore the sufferings of the people being faced by them in their just struggle for their sacred cause.
