Reforms underway in Islamabad Police: IG

IG Islamabad Police Amir Zulfiqar Khan has said according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, reforms are being introduced in Police.

While participating in a Radio Pakistan’s Program Raabta, he said Police reform is very close to the heart of Prime Minister Imran Khan and on his posting as IG Islamabad, the Prime Minister issued special instructions to control the land grabbers, drug mafia, negative attitude of the police and all other crimes.

The IG said the office system of Islamabad Police is being computerized.

He said we intend to build 10 model stations and also try to turn all checkpoints into electronic checkpoints. He said a new system of street watchers is being introduced in the Federal Capital to make it more secure from crimes.

The IG said we have given the slogan of ‘First Salaam Then Speech’ to the Islamabad police as the rule of law can be fully enforced only when the people are respected.

He said the land grabbers had been a major problem in Islamabad for a long time but now it is not possible for a person to grab someone’s land with force.

Talking about the new facilities being provided to the people by the police, he said that four satellite stations have been set up for the convenience of the people.

Amir Zulfiqar said in addition, a Public Facilitation Center has been set up in F-6 Sector for the convenience of the public in which facilities have been provided to the public regarding 12 non-core functions.
