Karachi: Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that development work of Ziauddin Road was now seventy five percent completed and reconstruction of this road was expected to complete in next two months with a cost of Rs190million.
The project was aimed at providing convenience to traffic by reconstructing dilapidated road and widening of roadside storm water drain that connects with Gujjar Nullah. This would solve the overflowing and accumulation of drain water on road. Following the directive of Administrator Karachi Director General Technical Altaf G. Memon who was personally monitoring the development works inspected the construction of road.
Administrator KMC had directed the engineers to ensure timely completion of project. Giving instructions that the work must be of international standard he said that construction of this road would solve the complaints of accumulation of drain water at KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad as this project also includes the widening of storm water drain upto required width.
He said that the width of this drain was four feet which had been made sixteen feet now. He further said that this road was being constructed on ASHTO Standard. Previously this road was in a very bad condition which caused hurdles in smooth flow of traffic. However with its reconstruction traffic pressure on this road would decrease that would also help minimize the chances of traffic accidents.
