Islamabad, January 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 15 members delegation of District Bar Association, Rawalpindi, headed by its President, Mr. Sajid Ilyas Bhatti and consisting other office bearers called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, today i.e. 09.01.2013, in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad.
The members of delegation briefed the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan about the Bar activities and achievements during the year with regard to Bar Rooms, library extension and other issues. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan appreciated the activities of the bar and advised the members of the delegation that it should be made a permanent record in the shape of a book and the relevant write-ups and articles should also be published therein. The President of the Bar intimated the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan that they have a plan in their mind as advised by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan and the book will be published shortly.
The members discussed with the Hon’ble Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest of the legal/judicial fraternity and thanked the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan for sparing time for the bar members out of his busy schedule.
They further said that his lordship is a ray of hope and he is held in high esteem by whole nation due to his legal acumen and dedication for cause of supremacy of Constitution, rule of law and independence of judiciary.
His lordship emphasized that bench and bar are the integral part of the same system. His lordship also appreciated the steps taken by legal fraternity for rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of judiciary in the country.
The delegation assured full support and cooperation in dispensation of expeditious and inexpensive justice and to stand by the judiciary.
