Srinagar, November 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Dukhtaran-e-Millat have termed the statement of Hindu religious leaders, Ravi Shanker, regarding resistance leadership and the ongoing freedom movement as ridiculous, hilarious and far from reality.
Ravi Shankar while addressing a function in Jammu had asked that what kind of freedom Kashmiris wanted and that most of them did not even understood the meaning of Aazadi (freedom).
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar advised Ravi Shankar to go through the history and equip himself with the facts and then comment. It said, before asking this question, he should have gone through the pages of history and resolutions of United Nations and promises made by his own political stalwarts, testified by the global forums where more than 18 resolutions stand testimony to the sacred cause, the Kashmiri people pursue.
The APHC said that Ravi Shankar talked the language of the oppressor within the ambit of their biased and brutal thinking. “He, instead, should have asked this question to the ruthless Indian armed forces killing and maiming our populace for the last seven decades particularly in the last five months. His knowledge about Kashmir dispute seems to be canceling the bare facts as his masters, joining the chorus of their denial and deceit,” it added.
The APHC urged Ravi Shankar to come out of the cocoon of the illusion, delusion, deceit and denial and accept the rock hard reality that occupied Kashmir has a disputed status and the Kashmiris will never accept and legitimize the Indian forced military occupation and sooner India comes to terms with this reality better is for them and the whole South Asia. It also asked him to muster courage to face those blinded, maimed, crippled and caged by Indian forces using the smoke screen of green clad Mufti regime and he would definitely read only the slogan of freedom from everybody’s face which would surely enlighten and acknowledge his biased mindset.
The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in a statement described the assertion of Ravi Shankar as absurd and part of false Indian propaganda against the resistance leaders and the Kashmiri people. He said that the statement of Ravi Shankar actually reflected his mental and intellectual bankruptcy.
Yasin Malik said that the struggle for freedom in Jammu and Kashmir was also a battle between truth and falsehood, the oppressor and the oppressed, and Kashmiris in this battle represented truth and justice and were fighting against the Indian falsehood and oppression while giving sacrifices in this battle. He said that statement of Ravi Shankar had actually exposed his real face and by siding with the oppressors he had shown his class and creed too.
The JKLF Chairman said that Ravi Shankar had turned a blind eye on recent killings by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and he was not able to feel the pain of thousands of those who had been injured by Indian bullets and pellets. He is also unable to feel any shame on mass blinding of Kashmiris by Indian forces during last over 130 days and was also unaware of agony that ten thousand innocent youth were going through in Indian jails and incarceration centres, he added.
Yasin Malik said, Ravi Shankar and people like him taking the disguise of religion openly support communalism of RSS and chauvinism of Narendra Modi which is highly condemnable.
Dukhtaran-e-Millat General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in a statement in Srinagar said that the remarks of Ravi Shankar were far from reality and that the people of Kashmir were offering sacrifices only to get freedom from the clutches of India and to become a part of Pakistan. “People like Ravi Shankar should understand that a nation which has sacrificed more than one lac people for freedom from India and merger with Pakistan, don’t need sermons from those who are collaborators of state terrorism,” she added.
“People like Ravi Shankar are double edged swords, with two faces of a same coin. Their agenda is to strengthen the Hindutva agenda in Kashmir,” she added. She also paid tributes to those who were martyred in unprovoked shelling of Indian forces in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir. She extended condolences to the bereaved families.
