Islamabad: Chairperson of National Commission for Human Development Doctor Nafeesa shah told the Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada during briefing over NCHD that after Supreme Court judgment NCHD was back to its work. Federal Minister was told that NCHD is presently working into the whole Punjab, Sind, KPK (except South and North Waziristan) and Balochistan (except Dera Bugti).
It was told to the Minister, “NCHD is presently working only into education while in the past it was also taking responsibilities of health sector. According to the survey of NCHD 179, 39630 youth are totally illiterate into Pakistan. Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada advised at the occasion, “NCHD should select target and priorities and for this purpose one million people annually should be provided education.
Federal Minister advised the chairperson that rationalization and reorganization of the NCHD should be completed before June and to save the exchequer of Government, overstaffing must curtailed into head office as well provincial and district offices. At the meeting it was decided that NCHD head office officials would be reduced from 172 to 114 and in the provincial offices, officials would be reduced from 3558 to 3296.
Federal Minster advised the Chairperson NCHD that adult literacy pregame, universalization of primary education and survey of literacy might be started from Bahawalpur district. Moreover Federal minister advised the Chairperson, “Learn to resist the political pressure for jobs but never oblige anyone as it could lead to devastation of institution. Federal Minister told that gone are the days when offspring’s of influential people withdrawing salaries from NCHD and delivering no services and let everyone be clear that I have zero tolerance for any nepotism or favouritism.
