Raja Pervez Ashraf inaugurates Citrus Orchard

Islamabad, March 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): Raja Pervez Ashraf inaugurated Citrus Orchard this evening.

He prayed for the safety and unity of the country and wellbeing of the people of Pakistan, after planting the sapling.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that a green environment is imperative for a healthy nation. He maintained that home-grown and environment friendly varieties must be preferred for plantation to ensure a pollution free environment.

He said that Pakistan has enormous potential for growing all types of fruit especially citrus and Pakistani citrus is popular the world over. Care and proper maintenance of plants is essential to ensure the growth of plants to fruition, he said.

A total of 700 Red Blood plants have been planted in the citrus orchard stretching over an area of 7 acres that would start producing fruit by February 2016.
