Railway minister orders complete rehabilitation of Lahore railway station

Islamabad, July 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minster for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique along with senior Railway officials paid a detailed inspection visit to Lahore Railway Station. During his three hours stay he directed the railway officials for complete rehabilitation of the historical station.

The Minister directed Railways authorities to prepare a Master Plan for complete rehabilitation of Lahore railway Station keeping with its historical value and traditional peculiarities.

He directed the authorities to pay special attention towards renovation of the building. He specifically ordered the authorities to add typical Lahori Food in the cuisine available at Railway station.

He also gave instructions to establish a Food Court and Handicraft Centre at the newly vacated places in the suburbs of Railway Station.

The Federal Minister received on the site briefing about different sections working at railway station and ordered up gradation of their public service. He gave strict directions to increase number of waiting rooms at every platform while ensuring quality of their conditions.

The Federal Minister restored Badr train’s stop at Farooqabad station with immediate effect to facilitate people of the concerned area.
