Islamabad, July 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): Radio Pakistan has prepared a special package of programs marking month long independence celebrations. The package comprising special reports on excerpts from the addresses of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah delivered from time to time, preparations for Independence Day celebrations, national songs and declamation contests, live music shows, feature and documentary programs, interviews, and special mushairas in national and regional languages, will start from Friday and will continue till the 31st of next month.
Program titled Azadi ka safar in the series Subha-e-Pakistan (07:10-08:00 a.m. daily) will cover chronology of Pakistan movement from march 23, 1940 to August 14, 1947. Declamation contests will be aired from 10:10 to 10:30 a.m. daily.
Singing contests will be broadcast from ten stations of Radio Pakistan from 12:10 to 01:00 p.m. daily, and the final will be held in Islamabad on August 11. Prominent singers will be members of the jury.
Special features to be put on air from 4:10 to 5:00 p.m. daily, will include development projects launched by the government with popular national songs; art and artisans; and narrative features on development since 1947.
Special live music shows will be broadcast from 7:10 to 8:00 p.m. daily. Program Hum Naujawan scheduled from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m. daily will centre round what youth see in Pakistan and how do they express their love for Pakistan.
Drama hour has been scheduled from 9:10 to 10:00 p.m. daily. Program Jagta Pakistan from 11:10 p.m. to 12:00 night has been dedicated to armed forces with special focus on operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
