Quit Kashmir campaign, JKLF stages protest in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leaders and activists staged demonstrations in Srinagar, today, in connection with the “Quit Kashmir” campaign.

The JKLF leaders staged demonstration in different areas of the city. They were holding placards inscribed with slogans in favour of freedom and against India. The protesters also released balloons in the air on the occasion.

Addressing the demonstrators, the JKLF leader, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, strongly denounced the arrest of the party Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and imposition of restrictions in the territory on the visit of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to the occupied territory. He said that arrests, restrictions and other repressive measures showed that India was continuing its illegal hold on Kashmir at the dint of its military might.

Noor Muhammad Kalwal appreciated the Kashmiri people for observing complete shutdown on the visit of Indian Prime Minister. He said that the shutdown should serve as an eye-opener for the Indian Prime Minister and political parties that they would have to give up their nefarious designs about Kashmir and that they should take steps towards resolving the Kashmir dispute as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
