Qom seminar urges India, Pakistan to resolve Kashmir dispute

Tehran, February 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): A conference held in Qom city of Iran has urged India and Pakistan to enter into dialogue to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute. The conference was held to express unity with the Kashmiris on Kashmir Solidarity Day and was organised by Tehreek-e-Ittehad Ummat Jammu and Kashmir, International Wilayat Mission and Majlis Branch of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen in Qom.

The event was presided over by Dr Syed Shafqat Zaidi, a member of Majlis Wahdat Pakistan. During his speech at the conference, he condemned the killings of Muslims in Kashmir and other countries. He urged Muslim communities to support people of Kashmir openly. Dr Zaidi also condemned the silence of world human rights organisations over the atrocities on Muslims especially in occupied Kashmir.

The speakers on the occasion urged Pakistan and India to enter into dialogue to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute. “We pay homage to the sacrifices of our brethren in Kashmir and reiterate our unflinching, moral and political support for the just cause of people of Kashmir,” one of a speakers said.

A large number of scholars and students from different countries attended the conference. At the end of the conference, special prayers were also held for the people of Kashmir and other Muslims across the globe.
