Karachi, July 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today inaugurated, the 9th International Exhibition – “My Karachi – Oasis of harmony” organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry held at Karachi Expo Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister Sindh said that it is utmost need of hour to bring economic revolution in the country through industrialization, and for that we have to climb up the economic ladders, and for that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are unavoidable.
He said that there is big potential in our country particularly the province of Sindh where there are numerous resources which are essential for development, progress and prosperity of the country.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah further said that “My Karachi Exhibition” is a message of peace, harmony and goodwill, while it is also a message of ownership for everyone to play the due role to own Karachi and Pakistan.
He further said that if Pakistan has to take its due place among the worldwide nations, everyone has to play its role and work hard to develop its economy on the sound and strong pillars with ability to compete with the emerging economics. Chief Minister Sindh lauded the efforts of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry particularly Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman Businessmen Group who organized the Exhibition for the first time in 2004.
He further said that KCCI had received appreciation from people of Karachi, the Government of Sindh and the Local Government Department which are the joint stockholders of the occasion, while the people of Karachi are the real beneficiaries. He appreciated efforts of KCCI which has efforted to extend its liaison with Afghanistan, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia, as such high level delegations have come to Karachi to participate in the exhibition.
Chief Minister Sindh commended his gratitude to entire business community of Karachi for strengthening the economy of nation and hoped that with more than ever zeal and enthusiasm, the Journey for the economic growth will continue with success and prosperity.
He said that the KCCI team under leadership of its President Mian Abrar Ahmed had taken a positive and constructive initiative, which would not only provide a very attractive business avenue, both to the local and foreign investors to exhibit their products and help to promote trade but would also help to strengthening the image of Karachi as a peaceful city.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah recommended the concerned circles of the government to establish more SME Zones with one dedicated SME Zone for Women Entrepreneurs. He welcomed the participation of friendly countries and added that it will help promote our trade with those friendly countries.
Sindh Industries Minister Mr. Abdul Rauf Siddiqui in address congratulated the KCCI for organizing the International Exhibition. He also lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Sindh who had made untiring efforts for promotion and development of industries and trade.
Chairman, Sindh Board of Investment Mr. Zubair Motiwala also highlighted efforts of Sindh Government for promotion of environment for industrial development. Earlier, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mian Abrar Ahmed presented welcome address and highlighted the activities, performance and progress report KCCI.
The inaugural ceremony was attended among other by President Pakistan – Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Deputy High Commissioner of India in Islamabad Mr. Gopal Baglay; Mr. Bharat Kumar, diplomats and members of business and industrial community of Karachi Govt.
