Punjab Youth Festival: Gaming arcade events concludes

Lahore, March 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Gaming Arcade and Ad Mad Events of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) concluded at the Gymnasium Hall Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on this occasion.

Waqar Haider Baig emerged as winner in Need for Speed category followed by Hamza Rasheed from NUST. The title of FIFA 13 event went to M. Umer of Pak Poly Technical Institute while UETs Ahmed Mohyuddin remained runner-up.

In the Counter Strike Team Contest, Respect team, comprising five participants, grabbed the top honours while PGS finished second. Beaconhouse National University (BNU) won the Ad Mad contest at the same venue while contestants from Comsats clinched the second position for their university.

Zafar Iqbal (NCA), Rana Faizan and Aun Zaidi acted as judges. Addressing the media, the Minister said that Punjab Government was also providing adequate opportunities to youth to flourish in IT sector besides promotion of sports. Director General, Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Mr. Usman Anwar was also present on the occasion.
