Lahore: A ceremony to distribute laptops among the faculty members of Punjab University Law College was held here on Monday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dean Faculty of Law Prof Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, Sami Ozair, Col (r) Ikramullah Khan, Maria Maldonado and faculty members of the college were present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said the research growth of the faculty members would boost if they ensured use of the laptops. The Vice-Chancellor said he himself had written books using this facility during over three and half years of his vice-chancellorship. He said laptops could be used anytime and anywhere and it could also facilitate in correspondence. He said Law College was a great asset but unfortunately it had been neglected in the past. He said our leadership had not realized the value of education and Islamic countries did not act upon the 750 verses of Holy Quran regarding education. Encouraging the faculty members, Dr Mujahid Kamran asked them to submit their projects and get share in the research grants.
Prof Dr M Ehsan Malik said the present administration had taken remarkable measures for the promotion of education and research in the varsity.
Speaking on the occasion, Sami Ozair thanked the Vice-Chancellor and said due to revolutionary steps, there was a lot of improvement in the academic programmes of Law College and first time in history of Law College since 1868, central marking had been introduced and now LLB results would be announced in one and half month. He asked the faculty members to get benefit from the facilities and focus on the academic programmes. He said two PhD faculty members had joined the College and two more would join in the next two years.
