Lahore, March 28, 2017 (PPI-OT):Announcing special development package of Rs.25 billion for Lodhran district, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that president, prime minister and governors from South Punjab have ruled the country, but never think of removing deprivations of the people of South Punjab. He said nobody has ever think that mega projects should be carried out in South Punjab and Metro bus projects be implemented here to provide comfortable travelling facilities to the people.
He said that PML-N government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has carried out series of development projects in South Punjab. He said that Multan Metro Bus Project has been completed at a cost of Rs.28 billion due to which the people of South Punjab are able to get modern travelling facilities and labourers, farmers, widows, orphans, students, teachers, lawyers and clerks travel by this modern travelling project and they have got rid of smoke-emitting old buses and the mothers, daughters, sisters of the nation travel in the Metro bus service with respect.
He expressed these views while addressing a large public gathering after laying the foundation stone of 98 km long Lodhran to Khanewal two-way road and flyover over Pirwala Road Railway crossing. He also announced provision of 20 air-conditioned buses for Lodhran and said these buses are gift from Punjab government. He said the program of potable water is being started from 37 tehsils of South Punjab and billions of rupees will be spent on this project. He said sub-campus of the agriculture university will be established in Lodhran and flyover on Lodhran-Jalalpur railway crossing will be completed at a cost of Rs1.1 billion.
He said that 30 km long Lodhran-Karorpaka dual way road will also be constructed at a cost of Rs. 60 crore. Shehbaz Sharif also announced construction of 18 km long road from Dunyapur to Melsi and said he will come to Lodhran again soon to meet the people here. He said he will try to ensure completion of the road from Khanewal to Lodhran in 10 months instead of 12 months. He said the gift of 98 km long Lodhran-Khanewal Road at a cost of Rs.22 billion will be presented to the people of South Punjab in ten months.
The Chief Minister said he was thankful to the people of Lodhran who have arrived in the public gathering in large numbers and he hopes that people of Lodhran under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will eliminate the political parties that are opponents of the development. He said the leader of a political party says on TV screen that roads in Punjab are constructed after getting kickbacks and bribes are taken for development projects and that leader says if he got an opportunity then he will bring about prosperity in South Punjab.
He said he replied to the leader that Punjab is your house and you should come here, but first of all you should remove garbage of Karachi and resolve problems of the people of Karachi. He said president of another party was a big player but he opposed PSL final in Lahore. He said the same leader called the great project of Metro Bus as ‘Jangla Bus’ and now after realising the importance of this project he is establishing metro project in his province.
He said this leader has realized the importance of the metro bus service for the people of Peshawar after four years and he even then congratulates the people of Peshawar and request ‘Niazi Sahib’ not to call this project ‘Jangla bus service’. He said in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa there are beautiful areas of Nathiagali and Changlagali and he can even call this bus service Changla bus service. He said in 2013 election, Nawaz Sharif promised with the people to end load-shedding and this promise is nearing materialization.
He said the people still remember the period when they were losing jobs due to shortage of electricity, industry and agriculture were at the verge of destruction and economic activities had almost halted and the people had become mentally disturbed due to load-shedding. He said dictator Musharraf who raised the slogan of Pakistan first, Q league and PPP are involved in the crime to creating such miserable situation of load-shedding for the people of Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif said he has come to give the good news to the people that load-shedding will be eliminated by the end of this year and the country will have abundant electricity.
He said billions of dollars have been spent on energy projects and 400 MW Solar Power Project was installed in Bahawalpur. He said Punjab government has established the power projects in the areas where there were deserts and forests. He said political stunts and sloganeering have become traps for those people. He said a mega potable water program is being launched from 37 tehsils of south Punjab and some projects of this program will complete this year and other in next year.
The Chief Minister said he promises to the people that he will provide potable water to the people as he has provided roads, educational institutions and power projects. He said under Kisan Package, farmers are being provided fertilizers at low rates and interest-free loans of Rs.100 billion have been provided to small farmers and electricity rates for the tube wells have been decreased. He said these are farmer-friendly projects launched under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and no previous government has paid attention to the problems of farmers.
He said a political stuntman who got written-off loans worth billions of rupees says on TV screens he gave tax of two crore rupees. He said these are persons who have looted resources of the people mercilessly and they should be held accountable. He said first they loot the people and then they give tax that is condemnable. He said strict accountability of everybody including Shehbaz Sharif should be carried out so that nobody could dare to loot the people.
He said that Punjab government will protect rights of the farmers in wheat purchase process and we will buy as much wheat as the farmers want to sell. He said that Lodhran is a small district therefore the metro bus service cannot be launched here so he is gifting 20 air-conditioned buses to the district. He said additional rooms are being established in schools and 20 thousand schools will be provided solar panels at the cost of Rs.12 billion by the end of this year.
He asked the people not to hear those who staged sit-ins and threatened lockdowns because these elements are opponents of development. He said sit-in group does not want the fate of the people of Pakistan and Lodhran changed. He said Pakistan will become a great country of the world under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and a true welfare state as per dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
