Protests in Srinagar against puppet authorities

Srinagar, October 01, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, people staged protest demonstrations in different parts of Srinagar city against the anti-people policies of the puppet regime.

Protests were held at Shalteng, Parimpora and Batamaloo areas while people blocked the Srinagar-Baramulla road at several places.

“All we hear is that tonnes and tonnes of relief material have been distributed among the flood victims. We have not seen anyone here distributing any material,” Ghulam Mohammad, one of the protesters at Shalteng, said. The protestors also said that electricity and water supply had not been restored in their areas.

Residents from Batamaloo and adjoining areas staged a sit-in and blocked the road near Civil Secretariat. The blockade of the Srinagar-Baramulla road has snapped traffic movement between central Kashmir and the northern areas of the Valley.
