Islamabad, July 04, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan plunged into an era of darkness on 5th of July 1977 when dictator Zia-ul-Haq imposed Martial Law in the country by dismissing the elected government of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. An era of hangings, floggings and worst type of victimization started with no fundamental rights what so ever. Thousands of PPP workers were put behind jail indefinitely.
Dictator Zia-ul-Haq’s policies of vendetta surfaced in its worst form when he implicated Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in a murder case and hanged him in April 1979.
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the leader of the people who fired the message of freedom into the hearts and minds of the poor masses which dictators and their pawns could not extinguish despite unleashing terror of un-imaginable proportion. Today, we see the wave of freedom blowing across the country, and credit for this goes to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who rendered ultimate sacrifice for the rights of the poor people.
The history has made him immortal whereas his tormenter has been thrown into the dustbin of the history to face its wrath for all times to come.
