Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani presented a cheque of Rs. 5 million as assistance to the representatives of Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) at PM’s House here today.
The LRBT is a non-profit organization working for the prevention of the blindness and other eye ailments in the country free of cost.
The Prime Minister appreciated the services of LRBT in providing state of the art free eye-care with in the country. The Prime Minister specially mentioned the efforts of LRBT during its 26 years of service focused particularly on female eye patients.
The Prime Minister was apprised that LRBT is providing free of cost services to the eye patients across the country and recently its operations have been extended to Balochistan as well. The organization not only has many hospitals in various part of the country but also maintains mobile units to cater the needs of the patients from the far flung areas.
The Prime Minister asked the representatives of LRBT to include Southern Punjab in their expansion programme as well. The Prime Minister offered his own land for the construction of any facility in Multan.
The LRBT representatives included Mrs. Zeeshan Afzal Khan and Mr. Amir Mansoor.
