Islamabad, November 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): Ms Alina Waheed, the first Pakistani girl to top A-levels examination was given a cheque of Rs 200,000/- by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at PM’s House today.
Talking to Ms Alina Waheed, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that this ceremony has been held as a token of recognition of the hard work and talent of Ms Alina Waheed who has earned a good name for herself, her family and her country by securing the first position in A-levels.
The Prime Minister said that the government will encourage talented student in Pakistan and provide them every assistance so that they can continue their studies and achieve their potential.
The Prime Minister said that Ms Alina Waheed is a role model and her success is a motivation for students who desire to achieve their academic goals.
Ms Alina Waheed secured 600 marks in Accounting and 96% and 97% marks in Economics and Business subjects, respectively in A-levels examination.
Ms Alina Waheed, third child of family of four, is presently studying in NUST where she is doing her Graduation in Economics. She intends to go abroad for higher studies in Economics.
