Islamabad, January 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed the Ministry of Water and Power to start construction of a Grid Station in Bajour Agency within this month to ensure smooth supply of electricity in the Agency.
The Prime Minister made this announcement in response to a demand of a delegation from Bajaur Agency led by MNA, Akhunzada Chatan which met him at the PM’s House this afternoon. The delegation comprised office bearers and party workers belonging to PPP Bajour Agency.
The Prime Minister said that all necessary funds would be released for the construction of the grid station on priority basis so that work on the project is completed as early as possible.
The Prime Minister said we have great respect for the courageous and brave people of tribal areas who are the face of Pakistan and Islam.
On this occasion Mr. Akhunzada Chatan recounted the contributions of PPP for the progress and development of Tribal areas, which include reforms of Frontier Crime Regulations (FCR) and extension of Political Parties act, to name a few.
The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to the development of Tribal areas and mainstreaming them so that they could be brought at par with other developed areas of the country.
