President visits British HC to condole over sad demise of Queen Elizabeth II

President Dr Arif Alvi visited the British High Commission to offer his condolences on the sad demise of Queen Elizabeth-II, on Friday.

He was received by the British High Commissioner, Christian Turner, on his arrival at the High Commission.

Later, talking to the British High Commissioner, the President shared his fond memories of the Late Queen Elizabeth-II visit to Pakistan and said that she was a visionary stateswoman of unmatched dignity and grace.

Speaking on the occasion, the British High Commissioner said that the late Queen had a special place for Pakistan and in one of her last messages; she expressed her solidarity with the flood victims of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Chairman Senate Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Friday visited the British High Commission in Islamabad to express grief over the sad demise of Queen Elizabeth II.

He condoled with the British High Commissioner and staff of the High Commission.

The Chairman, in his remarks, in the condolence book, wrote that the demise of the Queen is a great loss for the royal family, British people, commonwealth countries, and the people of Pakistan. He said Pakistan lost a sincere friend and a vibrant leader. He said it is a moment of extreme grief as the entire world is mourning. He said the vacuum created by Queen’s death will hardly be filled.

The Chairman Senate said the people of Pakistan share the grief of the royal family, the British Government and the people.
