Karachi: Mr. Aloys Awamanga, President of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and met prominent members of the business community to discuss matters related to enhancing trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Tanzania.
Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, President-FPCCI welcomed the President TCCIA and thanked him for visiting Pakistan on the occasion of Expo Pakistan 2011. He expressed hope that the visit of the President-TCCIA would go a long way in enhancing the trade relations and economic cooperation between both the countries.
The President further stated that Pakistan is a very big market consisting of 180 million peoples and also provides your countries investors the market access to Asian countries. It was also agreed that both the countries would exchange trade delegation and hold exhibitions in both the countries to create awareness of each other’s product in order to increase the bilateral trade.
Mr. Awamanga stated that Tanzania was eager to enhance trade with Pakistan, and acknowledged the strong presence of a vibrant Pakistani community in the country. He expressed his interest in the FPCCI Foreign Investment Conference to be held in Bhurban in December 2011, and said that he would look into sending a delegation representing Tanzania at the Conference.
The meeting was concluded with presentation of the FPCCI Crest to Mr. Awamanga by the President-FPCCI. Also present at the meeting were leading businessmen Mr. Dawood Usman Jakhura, Vice President FPCCI; Mr. Waseem Vohra, and Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig.
