President hosts dinner for Prime Minister, former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, some ministers and parliamentarians

Islamabad, March 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari tonight hosted dinner for Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and some ministers and parliamentarians present in the capital.

Those who were present during the dinner included among others Ms. Faryal Talpur, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Mr. Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan, Syed Naveed Qamar, Mr. A. Rehman Malik, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Mr. Farooq Hamid Naek, Syed Khursheed Shah, Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din, Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar, Chaudhry Imtiaz Safdar Waraich, Senator Jahangir Badar, Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Ms. Rukhsana Bangash, Ms. Mehreen Anwer Raja, Ms. Fouzia Habib and Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar.

Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the President during his interaction with the participants lauded their role for the strengthening of democracy in the country and promoting the policy of reconciliation. He said that completion of the tenure of the present Government and a peaceful transition from one democracy to another would be another major achievement of the present dispensation.

The President said that the Government had faced huge challenges during its tenure including the war against militancy, economic issues, recurrent natural disasters, energy crisis and many others. He said that it goes to the credit of the present government and maturity of the leadership that it pursued the policy of reconciliation and taking along all the political forces of the country with it on the issues of national interests and confronting the challenges faced by it.
