President Arif Alvi has expressed displeasure over the non-payment of compensation for four years to twenty-three affectees of land acquisition in Surab, Balochistan.

Upholding the decision of Wafaqi Mohtasib, the President directed the National Highway Authority to conduct an inquiry against the officers responsible for delay and submit compliance report.

The President gave the decision while deciding on a case where residents of Surab, Balochistan had approached Wafaqi Mohtasib and alleged that the NHA had acquired their agricultural land through the Deputy Commissioner for the construction of a road. They further complained that the road has been completed but they still await the payment of compensation amount for their land.
