Islamabad, November 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of well- known poet, drama writer, intellectual and educationist of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prof Mohammed Azam.
Prof. Mohammed Azam passed away today in Charsadda. He served as Chairman Pashto department Peshawar University, as Regional Director Pakistan Academy of Letters and authored many books. He wrote a number of drama serials both in Pashto and Urdu and was awarded Pride of Performance in the field of Art and literature.
In his condolence message, the President said that Prof Mohammed Azam would long be remembered in literary circles for his services for the promotion of Pushto language and literature.
The President expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. He also prayed to Allah to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
